Stockton, MO is the county seat of Cedar County and is located at the headwaters of Stockton Lake, one of the “Top 10” sailing lakes in the United States, according to Sail magazine. Situated 50 miles northwest from Springfield, Stockton is home to approximately 2,000 people, and hosts a variety of annual events including a bluegrass festival, numerous golf tournaments and most notably, their annual Black Walnut Festival. This unique four-day festival has been going on for over 50 years now, and features food vendors, parades, crafts, live music, and other fun activities for every age group. Walnuts from Stockton have been eaten around the world!
